Legislation and Policy

Perhaps the most important thing we can do for school safety is make it a priority. There are several ways to bring the causes and effects of school safety issues to the forefront of a national conversation, by campaigning and working for education and school reform, and learning more about the issues themselves to reach a more informed opinion on how to effect change.

This website includes a tutorial on how to write an effective grant proposal, a skill that will help any school in its quest to raise money to study problems and implement changes in their school safety plans. Included are learning activities and tutorials on specific problems as well as national research that will give schools the language to communicate their needs to potential funders.
